The current Farmington Public Library Association was incorporated in 1890 and continues to serve the residents of Farmington and the surrounding towns to this day. In 1901 the Cutler Memorial Library building was built on the corner of Academy and High Street, and the library has been operating there ever since.

The Farmington Public Library provides all Farmington area residents ready access to a broad collection of materials in a variety of media that record knowledge, ideas, and culture; provides materials for both recreational and informational purposes; offers guidance and encouragement in the use of these materials; and provides the community with access to reliable and current sources of information and reference. We provide free access to public computers and wifi, offer a variety of interesting programs for all ages, and much more.

The library is a safe, comfortable space to spend time with no expectation of purchasing anything, with friendly and helpful staff who are happy to assist you. The historic building has beautiful architectural features such as custom woodwork and a glass floor. The Farmington Public Library is a wonderful place to attend a program or event, work on the computer, browse our extensive collection, or simply sit and relax with a book.
